Teaching Reading and Writing in History Courses
According to the College and Career Readiness Standards students are expected to employ a range of subject-specific reading and writing techniques in their courses. As such, it is imperative that teacher candidates learn to provide instruction that meets this challenge. The English Language Arts Faculty Collaborative has developed two papers that inform teacher candidates and those that teach them of the best practices in teaching skills necessary for students to be successful readers and writers of history.
