The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has established the College and Career Readiness (CCR) Faculty Collaborative Initiative to provide faculty of Institutions of Higher Education who prepare pre-service teachers with the latest information and resources regarding the CCR Standards. The activities of the faculty collaboratives will ensure that prospective teachers receive preparation that is closely aligned with the CCR Standards. New teachers will be better able to prepare their students to be college-ready in the four content areas and in the cross disciplinary standards included in the CCR Standards.
The website is being launched in November, 2009 with a basic structure to allow for the dissemination of pertinent information and access to resources. We will continue to add content, especially in the form of professional development tools. We will also offer the availability of virtual community features in the Spring of 2010. Your suggestions and comments are welcome.
The CCR Faculty Collaborative Initiative is managed by Ms. Araceli Ortiz, Director, Dr. Susan Barnes, Senior Director, Educator Quality Unit, and Dr. Judy Loredo, Assistant Commissioner, THECB P-16 Department.
